PSA: My AI meal planner suggested unsafe ingredients
I tried an AI service to plan my weekly dinners. It included a recipe with undercooked beans that are toxic. Who checks these AI systems for food safety?

Double check every AI recipe with a real cooking site. Those things don't know their beans, literally. Mine once tried to put me in the hospital with undercooked kidney beans.

Trust my AI to nearly send me to the hospital with its bean salad idea. I followed the timing exactly and ended up sick for hours. Should there be a basic food safety check built into these planners?

AI recipes need safety labels. My friend in Texas used an AI app that said to cook chicken for only 10 minutes. She got food poisoning and missed three days of work. Like @patriciam51 pointed out, these systems don't understand basic food safety. Why do we let algorithms decide how to cook our food? They get temperatures wrong and ignore stuff like bean toxins. Is it too much to ask for a simple safety check before these apps go live?
