Hot take: I spent 3 years typing every order into the register by hand and the new AI scanner at work made me feel like a clown
Last Tuesday my bar manager dropped a little AI powered scanner on the counter at our place on 5th Street and I finally clocked that my handwritten inventory sheets were the reason we kept running out of well vodka. I used to spend every Sunday morning scribbling counts on a clipboard, and this thing read the whole shelf in about 90 seconds. It also flagged that we were pouring about 12 percent more gin than we logged, which nobody had caught in two years. Has anyone else switched their inventory over to something like this, and did it actually stick after the first month?
