Gave up on grammar checkers, then this AI caught a real mistake

I used to think all those AI grammar tools were just hype, especially after one kept rewriting my sentences into fancy nonsense. But last week I tested one on a tricky contract clause for work and it flagged a tense shift I completely missed, saving me from looking dumb in front of the client. The tool was Grammarly's new beta feature, and it even explained the rule in plain English. Has anyone else had a tool surprise them after you'd written it off?
