Spent $9 on a single pour over cone at a thrift shop in Boise, and now my 3pm cup beats anything my $80 machine makes
The fancy machine just sits there now, judging me from the counter. Anyone else have a cheap thing that quietly took over from the pricey one?

That $80 machine probably has a thermal block that never gets hot enough, which is why the cone wins. My Breville drip has been collecting dust for 7 months now. Grab a cheap gooseneck kettle and a $5 digital scale if you have not already, the pour control matters way more than the cone itself. Also weigh your beans and water at a 1:16 ratio, it made my thrift store setup way more consistent than the machine ever was.
