Opted for a local roaster's dark blend over my usual big brand, 2pm ritual changed
Last week I had to pick between grabbing my usual store bag or trying this small shop's dark roast they had on sale for $11. I went with the local one and brewed it at 2:30 like always. The flavor was smoother, less bitter, but the caffeine hit felt about the same. Has anyone else switched up their afternoon bean and noticed a real difference, or was it just my head playing tricks?

That smoother, less bitter thing really jumped out at me. It's funny how we settle into these little routines without questioning them, like the same coffee bag or the same gas station just because it's familiar. Once you actually stop and compare, you realize most of the big brands are just roasting everything until it all tastes like the same burnt ash. It makes me wonder how many other parts of the day are just habit instead of something we actually picked on purpose.
