My old boss in Dallas said I should try painting my fence with a brush instead of a sprayer
I laughed at him 3 months ago, but after 2 weekends of roller marks I tried it on a 40 foot section and it actually came out smoother, so now I want to know if anyone else has switched to a brush for their weekend projects.

Wait, you painted a 40 foot section with a brush and that was faster than a roller? That has to take forever. I'm not saying brushes don't give a nice finish, they do, but for a whole fence that sounds like a weekend you'd never get back. Most people I know use a sprayer to get it done quick and then fix the rough spots with a brush, not the other way around. Is a slightly smoother fence really worth hours of dipping and dragging?
