A plumber in Tulsa told me to stop fixing my fence and it changed my evenings
I was at my buddy's place in Tulsa two months ago helping him patch a fence gate that kept sagging. His neighbor, a retired plumber named Dale, watched us fight with it for about 20 minutes and finally walked over. He told me the gate wasn't the problem, the post was rotting at the base and I was just wasting my evenings on a losing battle. I went home that night and looked at my own fence, same deal, sagging gate, and I had been messing with it every weekend for a month. So I ripped out the post and poured a new one with concrete, took me one Saturday, and now I don't touch that gate at all. The thing is, I used to spend my after work time on random house stuff that never actually got fixed, just patched. Now I give myself 20 minutes to look at a problem, decide if it's a real fix or a patch, and if it's a patch I just leave it. Anyone else have a neighbor or stranger call out something you were doing wrong for weeks?
