That 3am Wikipedia hole about vending machines in Japan got weirdly deep
I was up way too late last night and fell into a rabbit hole about Japanese vending machines, specifically how they sell fresh eggs and ramen in rural spots like Hokkaido. There's one near a bus stop that's apparently been running since 1988, and the owner just restocks it every morning before work. I mean, it's such a random thing, but it made me think about how much trust goes into leaving a machine out in the middle of nowhere. Has anyone else ever found a weirdly specific operation like that and just sat there wondering how it still works?
