Late night trip down memory lane: hunting for mixtapes vs. scrolling playlists
Honestly, I used to spend hours at 2am dubbing songs off the radio onto cassettes in my bedroom in Toledo, waiting for the DJ to shut up so I could hit record. Now I just swipe through Spotify and it takes like 30 seconds to build something, which is way easier but I kind of miss the thrill of catching that one track live. Does anyone else still keep their old mixtapes or am I just hoarding plastic for no reason?
You ever sit there with your old cassettes and realize you can't even play them anymore because your car doesn't have a tape deck? I kept mine too, but honestly they're just really weird little paperweights that smell like dust and regret. At least Spotify doesn't hiss at me when I skip a song.
