I spent 6 months slicing garlic wrong because of a dumb YouTube video
Some popular channel showed mincing with the blade angled up, and I kept smashing cloves into a sticky mess until a chef at a Portland food cart laughed and told me to keep the blade flat against the board. What’s one cooking thing you swore you were doing right until someone called you out?

I swear half of YouTube cooking is just trolling people. @the_jennifera Denny's line cook is clearly the Gordon Ramsay of breaking bad kitchen habits. Next thing you know some food blogger will tell me to hold the knife with my toes or something. Honestly if you need a tutorial to scramble eggs maybe just order takeout.

Took me three years to realize I was ruining scrambled eggs by adding milk like my mom did. Finally a line cook at Denny's told me to just stop.

Man idk, I feel like adding milk to eggs isnt that deep. I grew up on watery scrambled eggs and I still eat em that way sometimes. If it tastes fine to you then who cares what a Denny's cook thinks? People act like there's one perfect way to cook everything and I think thats just silly.
