Counted 14 houses on my walk with new tile roofs and started wondering about the trend
I walk my dog around the neighborhood near Tramway and Copper most mornings, and about 6 weeks ago I started counting how many houses had fresh tile roofs going up. Hit 14 today, which floored me since I maybe saw 3 or 4 a year back in 2019. Part of it is the hail we got two summers back, sure, but a lot of these are people doing a full redo with new underlayment and decking, not just swapping broken pieces. My neighbor Lou got his done in April and he said the crew pulled off almost 40 squares of old concrete tile that weighed a ton. I keep wondering if it's insurance money driving it or if folks are just tired of patching. Anybody else noticing this in their part of town, or is it just my little stretch?
