Changed my mind about spray foam after seeing my neighbor's attic

I was dead set on fiberglass for my ABQ house attic because it's cheaper. Then I helped a neighbor with his reno last month and saw the difference two years of spray foam made in his place. His upstairs stays 10 degrees cooler in summer with no AC fighting. Has anyone here done a partial spray foam job and regretted the cost?

Wait, you helped your neighbor with his renovation voluntarily?

Figured I'd ask if she was being sarcastic or if she really thought I was that nice... helping with a renovation isn't exactly some huge favor. It's more like awkward silence and holding a level for an hour while he figured out which way was straight. Plus I kept eating his snacks so I figured it was fair trade or whatever. People act like it's some big deal to help a neighbor but really it's just easier to say yes than make up an excuse. Seems like everyone is looking for some deep meaning in basic stuff lately.

@the_amy that's not quite right, spray foam costs more upfront but the energy savings can be real.
