Had a wake-up call when I thought about using non-tempered glass in a shower.

It's cheaper, but if it breaks, someone could get really hurt.

Yeah, a "wake-up call" is one way to put it lol. Picture trying to explain to 911 that your shower turned into a murder scene because you wanted to save fifty bucks. You'd be picking glass out of your feet for a year, and your bathroom looks like a slasher film. Not exactly the relaxing spa vibe you were going for. The extra cost for tempered glass is basically just paying for the "not bleeding" feature.

Hold up, @margaretshah, but that glass horror story is pretty rare. Plenty of bathrooms have regular glass doors that never break because people just don't slam into them. Tempered glass can still fail and cost way more to fix when it does. You might be paying a premium for something that hardly ever becomes an issue.

Ugh this is everywhere. People skip phone cases because "I'm careful," then cry over a shattered screen. Same with not locking doors in safe neighborhoods. Saving tiny money now for huge risk later is just dumb math.
