She grabbed chrysanthemums, which can mean mourning in some places. I suggested cheerful gerberas instead before she left the shop.

You said chrysanthemums can mean mourning? That blows my mind. I've bought them for get-well gifts before, thinking they were just bright and happy. In some cultures they're for graves, which is the opposite of cheerful. You really saved that client from a major faux pas.
