Am I the only one who had their whole budget system wrecked by a weekend in Vegas?
I blew my entire 'fun money' for the month on one blackjack table in 20 minutes. Now I use a separate prepaid card for trips and never touch my main checking account. How do you guys keep vacation spending from wrecking your plans?

That prepaid card trick is a solid move, honestly. The one thing I'd add is that calling it 'fun money' can make it feel less real, like play cash. In my experience, labeling it something more serious, like 'monthly entertainment fund' or just 'discretionary spending,' changes the mental game. It's the same amount of money, but you're less likely to blow it all in one go because the name reminds you it has to last.

That point about "fun money" feeling like play cash is so true. I read an article once that said giving your budget categories boring, official names makes you take them more seriously.
