Hit dumpster 100 in my neighborhood last night
I keep a running count in my phone notes. Number 100 was a busted office chair and a bag of half-eaten fast food. Felt kind of let down honestly. I was hoping for something cool like a working lamp or a vintage game console. Anyone else track their finds or am I just weird?

Started doing this during lockdown and it got addictive. My best score was a stack of vinyl records someone tossed out, mostly Christmas albums but a few good ones. The trick is to check early on trash day before the trucks come.

...and what exactly were you hoping would be in that dumpster? Like did you have some secret fantasy of finding a mint condition NES or were you just hoping for something that wasn't trash? I ask because I think a lot of us get caught up in the thrill of the hunt itself. The anticipation of maybe finding something cool is what keeps me checking bins even when I know it's mostly junk. But when you actually hit a big number like 100 and it's just garbage, it kind of makes you wonder what the whole point is. You keep a list too though, so you must get something out of it.
