My neighbor Deb from the laundromat convinced me cheap sponges are a scam

She showed me how a $1.25 pack of scrubbers fell apart in 2 weeks when a $3 one from the hardware store lasts 2 months, so has anyone else actually tracked cost per use on their dollar store cleaning stuff?

Your Deb sounds like my neighbor Frank, who swears the expensive dryer sheets are a con, but then he spent $40 on a "special" lint brush that just looks like a regular one with a fancy handle. I started tracking cost per use on my kitchen stuff once, but then I got distracted by this weird sponge that had a scrubby side shaped like a fish, and now I have three of them and zero data. Honestly, the real scam is that my cat thinks any sponge left in the sink is a toy, so my actual cost per use is "one sponge per week, eaten by a demon.
