That week in Chiang Mai where every coworking space was full
Landing in Chiang Mai last month I figured I'd just walk into any cafe and set up camp, but three spaces in a row turned me away because their passes were sold out for the day... even the quiet one near the river had a waitlist. I spent 2 days bouncing between a mall food court and my hostel lobby, which killed my focus so bad I missed two deadlines for a remote editing gig. Has anyone else dealt with this booking-a-desk problem in popular nomad spots, or did I just pick the worst possible week?

Heard a podcast last week where a digital nomad was saying Chiang Mai turned into a booking war zone after the pandemic. They mentioned hostels and even 7-Elevens are putting in tables now because the demand got that crazy. The river spot you tried probably has a two week wait if the vibe is good. Next time, try hitting up smaller guesthouses near the old city, they usually have a quiet cafe that never gets listed online.
