Am I the only one who misses the old days of keyword stuffing?

I was digging through some old client files from 2016 and found a landing page we wrote that had the phrase 'best plumber in Phoenix' repeated like 40 times. It ranked #1 for years, lol. Now I run the same kind of page through 3 different AI tools and still can't get past page 2 without a video and a backlink pyramid. Has anyone else noticed how much more manual work the same result takes now?
