My client call froze mid meeting and I had to show my WIP piece with a screenshot from my phone
Last Thursday I was on a call with a client in Chicago showing them a digital painting I had been working on for 3 weeks, a big fantasy scene with 40+ layers, and my screen share just froze on the blue sky section. I panicked for like 10 seconds, then grabbed my phone, took a photo of my monitor, and texted it to them while I restarted my whole setup. The photo was blurry and the colors looked washed out but they actually said it helped them see the brush strokes better than the screen version. My tablet driver had crashed and I lost about 20 minutes of shading on the dragon wing, so I re-did it with a harder brush and honestly it looked sharper. Now I keep a phone pic of every WIP before big calls, just in case. Has anyone else had a screen share die mid showcase, and how do you recover without looking totally lost?
