DAE use clipping masks to hide a messy sketch layer instead of redrawing the lineart?
I've been drawing digitally for about 3 years and my lineart always came out wobbly because I kept erasing and redoing it. Last month I started dropping my rough sketch on a layer, setting a clipping mask on a new layer above it, and just painting the lines inside the sketch shape. The rough edges basically vanished because the mask holds everything in place, and my last piece took 40 minutes instead of the usual 2 hours. Now I'm wondering if I'm missing other layer tricks like this, since nobody ever showed me clipping masks when I was learning. What else am I probably sleeping on, alpha lock or something with layer groups?
