A 2007 Duramax no start took me 3 days and it was a $4 part
Customer's truck cranked fine but would not fire, so I checked fuel pressure, injectors, and even swapped the FICM before a buddy at the shop in Boise asked if I checked the crank sensor. Sure enough the connector had green corrosion inside it and the sensor read fine on the scanner but dropped out under load. Three days on a $4 pigtail, anybody else get burned by a sensor that tests good cold?
I used to roll my eyes at guys who threw parts at a no start instead of testing first. That was before a cam sensor on a 5.9 ate my whole weekend, tested perfect on the bench every single time. Now I wiggle every connector and check for green crust before I trust any reading.
