Just found out my grandma's knitting group has been meeting for 22 years straight
I joined my grandma's knitting circle at the library in Canton a couple weeks ago and someone mentioned they hadn't missed a single Tuesday since 2003. That's over 1,100 meetings if you do the math, which kind of floored me. I asked how they kept it going and one lady said the trick was never canceling, even if only two people showed up, because once you skip one week it's easy to skip the next. I've already missed two weeks of my own little sock project since then, so clearly I need their system. How do you all keep a craft habit from fizzling out when life gets busy?
Telling yourself "just two people showed up so it doesn't count" is the same energy as me skipping the gym because I forgot my good socks. But honestly the no-cancel rule is smart, 1,100 Tuesdays is basically a religion at this point. My sock project has been sitting in the corner judging me for three weeks now.
