I quit flossing daily for 9 months because it felt pointless, then my dentist in Boise showed me a 4mm pocket probe
I always figured flossing was something dentists just repeat because they have to, so I dropped it from my nightly routine around 9 months ago and told myself mouthwash covered it. A few days back I went in for a cleaning in Boise and the hygienist called out a 4mm pocket on my back molar, then walked me through how that space traps stuff a brush never reaches. She pulled out the probe and showed me the number right there, and it hit me that this was from me skipping one dumb 30 second habit. I restarted that night with those little floss picks sitting on my sink so I can't talk myself out of it. Only 6 days in but my gums already bleed way less. Does anyone else keep their floss somewhere weird just so it actually happens, or am I overthinking the setup?
