The crossing guard on Maple Street taught me the stop hand sign, and my dog now sits at every corner
Last week I was walking my dog Rufus past the school on Maple Street around 3pm and the crossing guard held up his hand and Rufus just plopped down next to me like he'd done it his whole life. Turns out the guard, a guy named Dale, said he's been doing that sign for 22 years and dogs pick it up faster than kids do. Now I do it at every corner and he actually waits, so has anyone else had their dog learn a random thing from a stranger on a walk?
