Serious question, did you know the average city bus has to stop every 2 to 3 blocks?
I was reading a little transit facts sign at the bus stop near my place in Portland and it said buses on local routes stop about every 2 to 3 blocks, which works out to something like 30 to 40 stops on my 45 minute ride to work. I always knew my commute felt slow but I never put a number on it before. The weird part is I got kind of proud of it after. I started counting my stops on the ride home and hit 34 before my building came up. Now I look at everyone on the bus with their headphones in and wonder if they know we are basically stopping at every corner the whole way. It made me feel less annoyed about how long it takes because now I get why. Anyone else ever count their stops on their ride and get a number way higher than they guessed?
