Postage stamp albums to spreadsheets, my cataloging shift finally clicked
I used to keep every stamp in those little glassine mounts inside a stockbook, sorted by country then year, which felt fine until I hit around 1,200 pieces and my brain just gave up. About 9 months ago I started logging everything into a basic spreadsheet with columns for issue date, watermark, and condition notes, mostly because I kept buying duplicates on eBay by accident. Now before I even bid on anything I check my sheet first, and it saved me from grabbing a 1948 Prague issue I already had twice in October. The tactile part is still fun, but the data side makes trading with other collectors way less awkward. Anyone else move their cataloging off paper and onto a screen, and did you stick with it or bail back?
