Dropped $80 on a vintage globe collection and half the countries don't even exist anymore
Thought I was buying cool history, but now I've got Africa split into weird colonial borders that haven't been right since 1965, and I'm stuck wondering if I should keep them as conversation starters or just toss them in the trash.

Lol "Africa split into weird colonial borders" - that's honestly a whole mood. I bought a 1950s atlas once thinking it looked vintage cool and ended up having to explain to guests why the Middle East looked like someone played Risk on it after a few drinks. I mean, at least yours can be a conversation starter about how fast borders change, or you could just tell people it's an alternate history map and see who buys it.

The real tell with those old maps is how they labeled places. My 1950s atlas calls it "French Equatorial Africa" like the colonial names were permanent fixtures, not just spray-painted graffiti on a subway car.
