Decided to start a coffee mug collection after talking to a guy at the flea market last Saturday

I was at the flea market in Portland and overheard this elderly man telling his friend how he collected mugs from every diner he visited since 1987. He showed me a few with cracked logos and faded paint, each one tied to a story about a road trip or a random breakfast. It made me wonder, do any of you collect things that remind you of specific places or people?

Hell yeah. I get that. I got a weird thing where I grab a shot glass from every town I've had to bail a buddy out of jail in. Got like 7 so far. One from Bend has a chip on the rim from when my cousin tried to down a fireball in the back of my truck before we went in. Another from Eugene just says "Open 24 Hours" on it, no name of the place. They all got something wrong with em, but I remember exactly why for each one.

Honestly, that's a solid collection idea, but you gotta stop taking shot glasses from bars that are open 24 hours - those places rarely have proper glassware that'll last.

Dude that's so much better than mine! I've just been collecting parking tickets from different states like some kind of idiot. Got like 12 of them shoved in my glovebox right now. At least your shot glasses have stories behind them, mine are just proof that I can't read a sign that says "2 hour parking.
