I thought writing prompts should always be super detailed, then a 6 word prompt in a $2 notebook changed my mind
Last week I was killing time at a bookstore in Boise and found this cheap little notebook of 6 word story prompts for $2, and I rolled my eyes because I always figured more detail meant better writing. But I tried one that just said "lonely lighthouse keeper, last log entry" and cranked out 800 words in 20 minutes, way more than I ever manage with my usual paragraph long prompts. Has anyone else flipped on this, or do you still need the long setups to get going?
