Bought a $40 prompt generator ebook, wish I had spent it on coffee instead

Last month I caved and paid 40 bucks for an ebook that promised to unlock endless plot ideas. It was just a bunch of vague questions I could find free on Pinterest honestly. The one good thing it did was make me realize I lean too hard on fantasy prompts and ignore real world settings. Has anyone else wasted money on writing tools that ended up being more hype than help?
