My bread machine died on a Sunday so I baked in a cast iron pot instead
The heating coil on my 6 year old bread machine gave out right as I was about to start a loaf for my son's lunch week. I panicked for a bit, then dumped the same dough into my Dutch oven at 450 degrees and it came out better than anything the machine ever made. Now I keep a jar of dough in the fridge and just tear off a chunk whenever I need bread. Has anyone else ditched a kitchen gadget after it broke and found the stove does the job fine?
