Pro tip: stack your monitor on an old hardcover book instead of buying a riser
I see so many pics on here with those fancy aluminum monitor stands and honestly, they cost like $40 for something that just needs to be the right height. I grabbed a thick dictionary from a thrift store for 75 cents and set my screen on it. The width is perfect for my 24 inch monitor and the height ended up being EXACTLY where my eyes line up with the top third of the screen. Plus it adds a little bookish vibe to my corner desk in Cincinnati that a metal plate just doesn't give. My neck stopped hurting after about a week and my desk looks way less sterile. Anyone else using random household stuff to fix their ergonomics instead of buying the overpriced gear? What's the weirdest thing you've propped a screen on?
