Bought a $30 desk lamp 8 months ago and finally realized it was why my eyes hurt by 3pm every day
So for the better part of this year I kept getting these brutal headaches around mid afternoon and just blamed screen time and bad sleep. My setup looked fine, or so I thought. I had this bright cool white lamp clamped to the side of my desk that I grabbed for like $30 at a big box store, and it blasted light straight down onto my keyboard, which was fine for seeing keys but threw this harsh glare across my whole monitor. Last Saturday my sister was over and sat at my desk for like 5 minutes, then asked how I could stand the light hitting my screen like that. I moved the lamp behind my monitor, angled it up at the wall instead, and swapped the bulb to a warm one I already had in a drawer. Two days later, no headaches. The whole fix cost me zero dollars and it took me almost 8 months of blaming everything else to figure out the glare was the problem the whole time. Anyone else run their lighting this way, or am I late to something everyone already knew?
