A guy at the library in Boise got me to finally move my desk away from the wall
For 3 years my desk sat jammed against the wall in the corner of my apartment and I thought that was just how a small room worked. Then last month I was at the library in Boise and the guy next to me asked why I kept scooting my chair back and forth on my phone screen, and when I said my desk was against the wall he just laughed. He told me he pulled his desk out 8 inches for a lamp and now his shoulders don't hurt at the end of the day. I tried it the next morning with my $60 thrift store table and the light stopped hitting my screen and I could actually see my notes. It sounds dumb but having that little gap behind me makes the corner feel less like a cave. Anyone else move their desk off the wall and never go back?
