My $15 thrift store French press beats my $80 electric brewer, same beans, 3 weeks of testing
After 3 weeks of switching between the two every morning, the French press consistently gave me a thicker, sweeter cup from the same bag of Colombian beans, so can anyone tell me if it's the metal mesh filter or just the longer steep time that makes that difference?

Man, isn't that always the way though! It seems like the simpler tools win out so often once you actually get down to measuring what matters, not just what looks fancy on the counter. Your French press is proof that sometimes the old trick of just letting things sit and do their thing beats all the bells and whistles you can plug in.
