I thought the coffee ice cube trick was silly until a heat wave in Phoenix proved me wrong
Last July my AC died for three days and I was still making my usual hot pour over every morning, which just made me miserable by 9am. My neighbor Deb told me to freeze leftover coffee in an ice tray and pour the fresh stuff over it, and I rolled my eyes because it sounded like a gimmick. After two days of warm coffee I finally tried it, and the cubes melted slow enough that the drink never tasted watered down. Now I keep a tray going all summer, and it works best with a darker roast since the flavor holds up. Does anyone else do this, and do you use plain coffee cubes or mix in a little milk too?
