Watched a guy at the Love's in Joplin strap his mini excavator by the tracks instead of the bucket, and it almost slid off at 60 mph
I was grabbing coffee at the Love's off I-44 outside Joplin about 3 weeks ago when I noticed this guy running a single chain over the tracks of his mini ex and calling it done. He pulled out before I could say anything, and sure enough about 20 miles later I passed him on the shoulder with the machine shifted a good foot sideways on the deck. The whole reason you cross chain the bucket and the undercarriage is so it can't walk sideways when you hit a bump or a hard brake. Tie down points on the machine, not the tracks, that's what holds it. Anybody else seen guys fighting this lately, and do you bother saying something or just let them figure it out?
