Flatbed ramps with the flip-down lip beat my old slide-in set on a skid steer load in Fontana
I had been loading my skid steer with a pair of slide-in ramps for about a year and the things kept slipping off the tailgate lip when the tires hit them. Two weeks ago in Fontana I borrowed a buddy's flatbed ramps with the flip-down lip and the pins grabbed the deck edge solid, no slipping at all. The 6 inch lip also meant less of a gap jumping from ramp to bed, so I did not have to blip the throttle to clear it. Only downside is they are about 40 pounds heavier per ramp to horse around by hand. Anyone got a set they can load solo without wrecking their back?
Used to roll my eyes at the flip lip thinking it was just extra weight for no reason. Borrowed a set last month and now I get it, the pins grabbing the deck is a game changer. Mine are aluminum so they're not too bad to lift, maybe look for that if the steel ones are killing you.
