Appreciation post: the older driver at a truck stop in Barstow who checked my chains for free
I was hauling a mini excavator down I-15 six months ago and stopped for fuel outside Barstow when a guy named Ray walked over and pointed at my rear binder. He said it had walked loose about half a turn and told me he checks his own every 100 miles no matter what. I never got his last name, just that he runs a lowboy for a company out of Bakersfield, but I think about that stop every time I strap down now. Anybody else had a stranger catch something before it turned into a bad day on the road?
