Unpopular opinion: floating a slab in 95 degree heat taught me to slow my trowel down, not speed it up
Three summers ago on a driveway pour in Fresno, I kept racing the set and got a crusty finish with trowel burn all over it. My lead man told me to cut the water and start my machine later, and the finish came out glassy with way less effort. Anybody else find that going slower on hot pours actually saves you time at the end?
