Spent $340 on a used power trowel from a guy in Fresno and it paid for itself on one driveway
I almost didn't make the drive to look at it because the ad had one blurry picture and the guy sounded like he was in a hurry to get rid of it. Got there and the gearbox was dry but the blades were decent, so I talked him down from $400 and took the risk. Used it on a 24 by 30 driveway pour two weeks later and the finish came out flatter than anything I've done by hand, my knees didn't hate me the next morning either. Am I crazy for thinking more small crews should buy used equipment instead of renting every time? Curious what you all check first on a used trowel before handing over cash.
