Serious question, refurb drive or new one for a client's backup box?
Client brought in a 2019 Dell desktop last week that needed a backup drive for his tax stuff, and I had to pick between a $45 refurb 1TB spinning drive or a $70 new one. I went with the new one since it's his only copy and I didn't want to explain a dead drive to him in 6 months. Cloned his old drive with Clonezilla in about 40 min and it booted first try, no drama. Curious what you all do for cheap client builds, do you ever roll the dice on refurb drives from your usual supplier?
