Said I'd waive the $60 bench fee for a copier call, and the old man at the counter taught me something
I was dropping off a copy job at a print shop on 9th street when their tech was packing up after fixing the big Canon, and the owner told him the machine was down 4 hours that morning with three clients waiting. The tech looked at me and said he charged the shop $60 upfront for the visit no matter what, because he learned the hard way that free diagnosis calls ate his whole Tuesday, and the old man just nodded and paid it. So do you guys charge a bench fee even when the fix is some dumb 2 minute thing, or do you fold when the customer gives you the sad eyes?
