A senior tech told me to stop using compressed air on fan bearings and I thought he was nuts at first
He said I was just pushing dust deeper into the motor, so now I use a soft brush and vacuum instead. Has anyone else switched methods after getting called out on something basic like that?

Wait, pushing dust deeper into the motor is actually a thing? That sounds terrifying honestly (especially if you've been doing it for years like I have).

Nah @noaht15, canned air just blasts the fine stuff into the bearings where it wrecks the grease.
