Kind of the opposite take here, but I don't think it's some secret hero move. Some drivers just talk a lot on the mic, and this guy probably started saying the stops out of habit and never stopped. The regulars know the route blind, sure, but there are always tourists or folks going somewhere new on that bus. I ride buses enough to know that when a driver goes quiet, you end up craning your neck at street signs hoping you didn't miss your stop. So maybe the people who don't get it are just lucky enough to never ride anywhere unfamiliar.
