Just realized my bus driver knows my stop better than I do

Yesterday I was buried in my phone and missed my usual street. The driver saw me in the mirror and called out my apartment building's name before I could even look up. He said he's been on this route for eight years and remembers the regulars. Has your driver ever done something like that for you?

Read a story once about a mailman who learned the names of every dog on his route. Those little bits of care make a place feel like a real community, not just a bunch of addresses. Your driver remembering you for eight years is the same kind of quiet, important work.

My old barista used to start making my usual drink the second I walked in the door. It's wild how people in those jobs just quietly keep the whole day running for everyone else.

Spot on, and like taylor.sean said, that care builds real community.
