Found a guy doing hard hat dives in 12 feet of water at a marina in Gulfport, and his setup was wild

Was grabbing lunch at a dock in Gulfport last week and watched a diver working on a boat hull in maybe 12 feet of water with a full hard hat and surface air. The weird part was he had a lawn chair set up on the dock for his breaks and a cooler with a sandwich in it. He told me he's been doing shallow marina work for 22 years and prefers it over deep stuff because his knees are shot. The tender was literally his nephew holding the hose and eating chips most of the time. Anyone else do shallow harbor dives like this, and do you actually get used to the boredom between jobs?
