Dive log numbers: is 1000 dives really the line between rookie and pro?
I just hit 1,000 logged dives on my offshore ticket, mostly oil rig inspections in the Gulf. Some guys say that's when you stop being green, but I've met divers with 2,000 who still panic on a bad current. Does the number actually matter, or is it just a talking point for the bar?
