Spent $2,800 on a whole-house water softener and I'm kicking myself
I live over in Parma and our water is hard as a rock, so last spring I dropped $2,800 on a fancy whole-house softener after a salesman knocked on my door. Six months later I found out the city had already been treating our line and my neighbor just uses a $40 filter on his kitchen sink with zero issues. That money could have gone toward my furnace that's been making a weird noise since October. Now I'm stuck with a big salt tank in my basement and a monthly refill chore. Has anyone else in the area gotten pitched one of these and is it actually worth keeping?
